Yvonne

I came across Yvonne rather inadvertently.  I was searching on Kickstarter to see if there were any dolls or toys being Kickstarted, and found a line of action figures that didn’t entirely interest me, but I was curious what else the manufacturers (Zica Toys) had made.  That led to going to the Web site, where I found a picture of Yvonne, but they were out of stock in their own store.  But I was able to follow a link in the comments to another site that still had some in stock.  I bookmarked the site and said “maybe at some point” because she looked pretty interesting, but I didn’t feel the need right that second.

Obviously, I did eventually order her, though. 😛

This is what she looked like when she arrived:

No fancy packaging here! 😛

Here’s the contents of that bag spread out a bit so you can see what they look like.  I’m used to extra hands; I’ve got plenty of dolls and figures that have those.  But I think this may be the first time I’ve ever gotten something with extra busts.  (I know many doll lines have them, but I don’t personally have any dolls with extra bosoms.)

I first put her together using the medium chest size, because I wanted to see how easily — or not — they changed out.  Fortunately, everything came apart and went back together really easily.  I have to say, though, my first thought on getting her assembled was “man, your head is tiny!”  Maybe I’ve just spent too long surrounded by Pullips and Blythes…but I can’t look at Yvonne without thinking how small her head is.

So here’s a close-up of her face.  I like the subtle lips, but I think the heavy mascara (as it were) may be a problem.  Not visually, but because it led to black paint specks in several places on her face.  Overall, when seen like this, I think it’s a very nice face.

To give you an idea of her size, here’s Yvonne (yes, still naked) standing between my Azone/Parabox hybrid Mei-lin, on a Pure Neemo XS body, and my Azone/Pullip hybrid on a Picco Neemo body.  (Who totally needs a new outfit!  Oh, I had her trade wigs with Melitta, btw, because Melitta’s inability to sit up straight was wrecking up this beautiful wig.  Her bad posture will do less damage to the Miss Green wig, since it wasn’t very good to begin with.)  Anyway, as you can see, Yvonne is pretty small.  But I knew I’d be able to find some clothes around here that would fit her…

LOL, I just had to do this! 😀  For some reason, though, wearing Sakura’s signature outfit makes Yvonne look like a man. 😦

This one is a Pinkie Cooper outfit.  Unfortunately, it wouldn’t do, despite that from the front it really suits her.  It wouldn’t do because even with her smallest bust size, it wouldn’t close in the back. 😦

Then I tried this Moxie Girls outfit, and it fit like a dream!  (Her pose is just to show off how well she kneels, of course.)  It’s not a very good outfit, though, so I kept looking through my dolly clothes drawer…

If Moxie Girls fit, then so would Bratz, I figured, and I was right about that.  So this is what she’s still wearing, because I can’t find the Bratz pants that were so cool but look so awful on every doll I’ve ever tried them on.  I figure they’d fit her better, since she’s so much smaller, but I cannot figure out where I put them after they didn’t look too good on Kaiko. 😦  The skirt’s pretty good in the meantime, though. 🙂

Her head is too small for her body! And, I hate to point it out but her bazingas are lopsided.

Whats do you mean when you say the Monster High line of dolls are getting “Nerfed”?

I mean the line is being rebooted this year, and everything that made it different from every other line on the market is being removed. In other words, in the hopes of gaining a few new customers, they’re going to become utterly generic: spineless, and without an edge.

Hmm, wait, I just noticed, this comment is on a post that doesn’t even mention Monster High one way or the other. Why did you put that comment here, instead of on a post where I actually talked about Monster High?
